Genshin Impact drops you into Teyvat, a sweeping fantasy realm where Visions grant control over elements. You begin as the Traveler, choosing a male or female lead, and set out to find your missing twin across mountains, islands, and ancient ruins. Exploration is a highlight, with free climbing, gliding, and environmental puzzles that make every region feel like a playground.

Combat revolves around a flexible roster with 30-plus playable characters, each with distinct abilities and weapon types. Build a four-member squad, swap instantly between heroes, and chain reactions across nine elements for big payoffs. The world itself becomes part of your toolkit, from soaking foes before striking with electricity to whipping up flames with gusts of wind. Enemies answer back with their own elemental tricks, so timing and synergy matter.

Primarily a solo experience, the game opens co-op at Adventure Rank 16, letting you team with up to three others for specific activities. It is a welcome option when tougher bosses and late-game challenges appear.

The current Version Luna I update, A Dance of Snowy Tides and Hoarfrost Groves, expands the map with Nod-Krai and areas like Lempo Isle and Hiisi Island. It introduces the Meeting Point reward system, the Moonsign system that empowers both new and existing characters, and fresh reaction types that reshape combat. Three recruits join the lineup: Lauma, a 5-star Dendro catalyst user, Flins, a 5-star Electro polearm fighter, and Aino, a 4-star Hydro claymore specialist. Expect new enemies, forgeables, artifact sets, main story quests, and a permanent event, To Temper Thyself and Journey Far, which can earn a 5-star character’s Stella Fortuna. Update maintenance also grants 600 Primogems. The Luna naming pivot signals a more story-driven approach to versioning.

It is free to play, though optional purchases for characters and items can speed progression and limited-time banners may pressure collectors. Recommended specs include Android 8.1 or later, 8 GB of storage, and 4 GB RAM.

Verdict: a rich open world, deep elemental systems, co-op flexibility, and a vast cast make Genshin Impact easy to recommend, with monetization-driven pacing as the main caveat.
