Ninja Turtles: Legends embraces classic turn-based combat and a collectible card backbone to send you brawling across New York. You begin with a single Turtle, then gradually recruit the rest of the crew and a sizable roster of allies and foes. Each encounter pits your squad against waves of enemies, with attacks traded in strict turns that keep the pace deliberate and tactical.

Cards drive everything. They unlock characters, drop handy items like slices of pizza, and act as power-ups for your team. The roster is broad for a licensed game, offering 35 unique fighters, and you can even clear large chunks of the campaign without fielding the Turtles at all. That may irk purists, yet it injects welcome variety into team composition.

Presentation is a pleasant surprise. While promotional clips might suggest blocky models, the in-game look leans into crisp comic-book menus and sharp card art. During fights, the effects have a fluid feel that recalls old-school superhero brawlers, which gives each special move a bit of pop. Controls are intentionally pared back, making the basics easy to grasp for casual players.

Progression, however, demands patience. The early chapters feel forgiving and even a little overpowered, but difficulty climbs during multi‑character encounters. You can level up through steady play or by paying, and the in-game store is priced to push you toward the latter. Power-ups are noticeably easier to gather than raw experience, and you might need hundreds of XP while a boss yields only a handful, so the grind is real. Repetition does creep in as you chase the next card or upgrade, and there are reports of technical hiccups that can keep some players from getting started.

If you enjoy collecting, assembling squads, and light strategy, there is a fun loop here, especially for Turtle fans. Just be ready for a long grind or a willingness to spend.
