Combat sticks to tried-and-true turn-based encounters, with party actions unfolding in a rhythm fans of early console role-playing will recognize immediately. That old-school DNA extends to the presentation, which leans into a clean, retro look that flatters the nostalgic tone. The art direction is pleasant throughout, giving towns, dungeons, and battle screens a cohesive identity that supports the narrative without distracting from it.
