Colorful squad battler with crossover heroes and high-stakes strategy
Squad Busters blends a top-down brawler with a collector’s mindset, letting you assemble a dream team from the studio’s biggest universes and throw them into fast, online skirmishes. The hook is immediate: iconic characters from Clash of Clans, Brawl Stars, Hay Day, and more join forces, each bringing familiar personalities into a fresh, arena-style format.
A major overhaul gives the action far more depth. You now pick a single Hero to captain your Squad, and that choice matters, since Heroes arrive with distinctive Power Moves that can flip a fight. Surround them with Squaddies that complement those strengths, then push through maps to hunt treasure, slay monsters, and outmaneuver rival teams. There is real tension too. If your Hero falls, the entire run ends, which makes composition and timing crucial.
The global launch layers on progression and style. Ultra Evolutions unlock potent abilities alongside slick visual upgrades, opening new ways to build and refine your lineup. During matches, you can gather Hammers to spend in the Plaza Shop, turning your hub into a personalized showcase. The refreshed Gem Pass adds a stream of rewards and challenges, spotlighting two new MEGA Units, Magical Shelly and Kitsune Witch. Behind the scenes, a wave of balance changes and fixes targets rough edges reported by early players.
Presentation is unmistakably the studio’s signature. Characters are bold and cartoony, arenas pop with color, and the lively soundscape punctuates every hit, dash, and special. The trade-off is that all this spectacle can be resource hungry, and older devices may struggle when the screen fills with action. Also, while the crossover premise is appealing, the roster and stage variety can feel tighter than expected.
Pros:
- Bright, expressive art direction that matches the studio’s legacy
- Fan-favorite characters team up across multiple game worlds
- Punchy sound effects that heighten every encounter
Cons:
- Character and level selection can feel limited
- Demanding on older systems, with possible slowdowns in busy moments
